According to the new rule, vehicles without fastag will not be able to get registration, fitness certificate, third party insurance from April 1.

 The central government has now made Fastag mandatory in the list of required documents such as RC, insurance and fitness permits for private and commercial vehicles.  Renewal of old vehicle documents cannot be done without fastag.  The scheme is likely to be implemented from next April.  The government has already made it mandatory for new vehicles.  From February 15, double tax and penalty provision has been introduced for vehicles without fastags at every 770 toll plazas in the country.

 According to officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, more than 770 toll plazas in the country will operate with the help of electronic toll collection system.  This is facilitating online payment of taxes with the help of Fastag RFID on the windscreen of the vehicle.  The government has made Fastag mandatory on every toll plaza since February 15.

 The rule is planned to be implemented from April 1

 New vehicles will not be registered without Fastena.  The government has also started an exercise to include old vehicles in the rule.  With this, third party insurance, fitness certificate of Lagna without fastag will not be awakened.  Form 51 has been amended for this.  With this the fastag is made mandatory for the registration of the old vehicle.  This rule is planned to take effect from 1 April 2021.  The Ministry of Road Transport also issued a draft notification for disaster relief last month.
Fastag of a unique ID number to each vehicle


 The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has fed the information of each vehicle in the vehicle portal.  Each vehicle will be given a unique ID number fastag.  It will be fed with other information ranging from the certificate of registration in the vehicle.  Only then will the work of documents with the vehicle be considered completed.  This will prevent the driver from cheating by taking the fastag.  Fastag will not be easy to steal or use.  Two-wheelers are allowed in this arrangement.
