An attacker on a health worker will be sentenced to 3 months to seven years

The Modi government has now taken a tough decision on the ongoing attacks on health workers amid the destruction of the Corona virus. An ordinance was passed at a meeting of the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, after which strict action would be taken against those who attacked health workers. Which carries a sentence of 3 months to seven years. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar informed about the decision taken in the cabinet meeting.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that reports of attacks on doctors were coming in many places today and the government would not tolerate them. The government has brought an ordinance in this regard. The minister said those who attacked medical personnel would not get bail, adding that the investigation would be completed in 30 days. This decision will be brought within 1 year, while the sentence can range from 3 months to 5 years. Apart from this, in severe cases, the punishment is from 6 months to 7 years. A fine of Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh will also be imposed in serious cases.

According to the ordinance, if someone attacks a health worker's car, the market value will be doubled with compensation. Prakash Javadekar said there are currently 723 Kovid hospitals in the country, with about 2 lakh beds ready. It has 24 thousand ICU beds and 12 thousand 190 ventilators. While there are also more than 25 lakh N95 masks.
