Covid-19: Gujarat adds 1,320 positive cases, 14 deaths in 24 hours
AHMEDABAD: Gujarat in 24 hours ending 5pm on Friday added 1,320 positive cases, taking the total to 1.01 lakh. It was the fourth consecutive day for the state to record 1,300-plus daily cases.
The new cases include 271 in Surat, 171 in Ahmedabad, 162 from Rajkot, 125 from Vadodara, and 111 from Jamnagar. With the update, the cumulative cases in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot are 32,269, 21,680, 8,691 and 5,368.

The state also recorded deaths of 14 patients, taking the total to 3,078. The deaths include four from Ahmedabad, three from Surat, two from Rajkot, and one each from Gandhinagar, Gir Somnath, Junagdh, Patan and Vadodara. The total deaths in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot are 1,729, 645, 137 and 98.
With the update, the number of active cases in Gujarat is 16,219, which is 15.9% of total cases. The share of discharged and deceased patients in Gujarat is now at 81% and 3.1% respectively.
Gujarat in 24 hours carried out 75,453 tests, taking the total to 26.35 lakh. The state health department claimed that the number is 1161 tests per day per million population. As on Friday evening, the state had 5.53 lakh persons under quarantine, out of which 1,479 persons are under facility quarantine, whereas the rest are under home quarantine.
